The Fence is down!
In 2011, at the heyday of the Greek Indignados movement, this fence was erected in front of the Parliament in downtown Athens to keep citizens at arm’s length from the „temple of democracy”. The fence soon became a symbol of the politics of fear and authoritarianism implemented by the governments of austerity.

Earlier today, Wednesday 28 January 2015, the new government decided to dismantle the fence in a symbolic gesture of great significance.
