„Stop Israel’s Piracy – Free the Global Sumud Flotilla – End the Genocide
We gather tomorrow outside the Greek Embassy in Berlin because Greece bears responsibility for the abduction in international waters of the Global Sumud Flotilla by Israeli forces.
The flotilla carrying hundreds of people from all over the world set sail from Barcelona, Tunis, Catania and Siros to break the illegal blockade that Israel has imposed on Gaza since 2008, which intensified with the Genocide and has turned into a complete siege since March 2025, when Israel unilaterally broke the ceasefire.
The aim of the Global Sumud Flotilla was to show solidarity in practice with Palestinians in Gaza resisting genocide. The boats were carrying essential and much-needed supplies and medicine, as well as journalists, lawyers, and medical professionals.
Instead, during the night on October 1, in an act of piracy, our boats were intercepted in international waters by Israel, boarded and towed to Ashdod against the will of the organisers. Those on board were abducted and taken to Israel against their will, where they are still being held in Ktzi’ot prison in the Negev desert.

The members of the mission are being held in harsh conditions, and one member of the Greek delegation is being denied access to essential medication he brought with him. For several days, the Israeli authorities deliberately obstructed and delayed the efforts of consular representatives to see the abducted, while the relatives of those detained have been unable to contact them or obtain information about their condition. Although Palestinian lawyers eventually gained access to the detention site after persistent efforts, the Israeli army denied sevaral detainees the legal assistance to which they are entitled. In protest against the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, carried out with the complicity of Western states, several members of the mission have been on hunger strike since October 1!

Greece, like many other European member-states have failed to protect their own citizens against a rogue state like Israel. Through their complicity and coordination with Israel, they all enabled this crime. Greek authorities have repeatedly obstructed flotillas to Gaza, criminalised solidarity, and deepened military cooperation with Israel. Today, while Palestinians are bombed and starved, the Greek state stands on the wrong side of history—arming, training, and legitimising a genocidal and apartheid regime.

We demand:

• Immediate release of all abducted flotilla participants.
• An end to Greece’s complicity in Israel’s war crimes.
• Termination of military, economic, and diplomatic cooperation with Israel.
• Freedom and justice for Gaza and all of Palestine.

The people of Greece, of Germany, and around the world stand with Palestine. We will not be silenced. Solidarity will continue to sail, to march, to resist, until the siege is broken and Palestine is free.
